Who we are

Gorse Covert Community Church

In 2005 we conducted a community survey in the Gorse Covert area of Birchwood, to find out about people's needs and what they thought about church. We asked "Why do you think that most people in Gorse Covert don't go to church?". The top answer was "Because there isn't one!"

So we swung into action. Gorse Covert Community Church was formed in January 2006, serving the needs of people in Gorse Covert and the surrounding area. We ran this until December 2010, as part of the family of Birchwood Community Church. We took the decision to close it in order to focus our attention on the Encounter Centre, although we fully intend to revisit in the future.
