Activities

Church members are the Ministers at Birchwood Community Church. We encourage each other to serve in the ministry areas to which we believe we are called. That may mean leading a ministry area, or being involved in it more generally. So, we have many activities throughout the week and many people taking part in them. Here are some of the main ones.

HOME GROUPS.

We are a growing church and it is no longer possible to provide personal supporting fellowship merely through attendance at church on a Sunday. This is where home groups have a major part to play. Home groups are smaller and more personal. Every day of the week a home group meets somewhere in WA3. Each group is different. Some have a mix of ages, one group is for the youth, some focus on one particular locality in WA3.

Our home groups meet in Locking Stumps, Oakwood, Gorse Covert, Culcheth, and Padgate.

PRAYER MEETINGS

Friday is our prayer day, starting at 6:00am when the church Resource Centre is open for prayer. This is followed by a short prayer meeting from 7:00-7:30am. Yes, we know it's early but it's a great start to the day! There is a further prayer session from 12 noon to 1:00pm. In the evening pray-ers can come together at any time between 7:30-10:00pm, again at the Resource Centre.

TODDLERZONE

Mums and tots are catered for too. Toddlerzone takes place in two locations during the week (Thursdays at 1.30-3.00pm at Gorse Covert Primary School and Fridays at 10.00-11.30am at the Encounter Centre Toddlerzone). Toddlerzone enables mums, dads, guardians and, of course, the "tots" to meet up on a regular basis, enjoying craft, songs and play in a fun and safe environment.

WORSHIP TEAM PRAISE/PRAYER TIME

Meeting at the Encounter Centre at 7.30-9.30pm musicians, worship leaders, Song Pro and PA come together to praise and pray as they prepare for Sunday services. At the same time the Centre is open for anyone who would like to spend some time in prayer.

50 PLUS MORNINGS

Anyone over 50 is invited to drop in to the Community Room on Tuesday mornings, from 11.00am to 12 noon. This is an opportunity to catch up with friends, share a cup of tea and have fellowship together. Why not call in and join them?

MEN'S BREAKFAST

This is your chance to get the best breakfast in Birchwood. Join the men on a Saturday morning as they meet together for food and fellowship. Details of future breakfasts and the full activity programme will be included in the church calendar as they are scheduled.

LADIES' BREAKFAST

Not to be long outdone by the men, the ladies have just started to meet for breakfast on the last Saturday of each month. Croissants, bagels, fresh fruit and coffee all feature! All ladies are welcome to join us.

HeART

Every Tuesday from 10am to 8pm we have art and craft classes running in the HeART shop unit in the Birchwood shopping centre. All materials and tuition are provided free of charge, and you are welcome to come along and give it a try. Pop in for half an hour, or stay all day - it's up to you!
