About
Birchwood Community Church's Encounter Centre has recently been developed in the premises formerly occupied by the Silver Birch pub, next to the Birchwood Shopping Centre. Encounter is a multi-purpose facility for the community of Birchwood. It houses a quality clothes recycle shop, a community room, a worship centre, youth drop-in and Toddlerzone, as well as a new cafe. In addition to all this, there is an art and craft centre (HeART) in a separate shop unit within the Birchwood Shopping Centre.
Months of effort have been devoted to converting the premises, mostly carried out by volunteers from the church, who have become experts in painting, tiling, cabling, wallpapering and other activities too numerous to mention.
Encounter has something to offer everyone in the community. We hope that people will come to know and use it well.
